From 18 to 27 September 2026, Trafó presents its next two-weekend transdisciplinary focus on Rural–Urban Relations.

How do the realities and life situations we encounter, the choices and opportunities available to us depend on where we live? Resisting the rural–urban dichotomy, this focus explores the entanglements of rural and urban lives, their interdependence, what we can learn from one another, and how we can imagine and practise solidarity across differences. Our thinking about social change is often shaped by urban perspectives. With this focus, we seek to challenge this hierarchy by drawing attention to rural experiences and perspectives through the work of local and international artists.
