The lady is looking at you up and down, reprimanding you and urging you to be quiet. Your first reaction? Perhaps a baffled shake of the head, a sharp retort, or an amused smile.

But have you ever wondered why this person behaves so strict, arrogant, or unfriendly? Maybe it’s not mere arrogance but a shield—an emotional armor forged by experiences, disappointments and life’s hardships. Gertrudis is a woman who comes across as strict and rigid to others, judging everything and everyone with meticulous precision. She has a very clear idea of how things should be and she isolates herself in her world. But beneath the orderly surface she tries to control compulsively, lies a woman who has been deeply hurt. She carries a great deal of emotional baggage. The show portrays the process of freeing oneself from one's burdens with insight and humour.
Angie Kurz has a background in aerobic gymnastics and dance and has spent the past years training primarily in Spain. She is a member of the company Circo de Sur a Sur (ES/FR).
