Three athletic bodies, three movements and the dazzling possibilities. Partner acrobatic trio Knot on Hands creates work from pure physical research with the urge to discover and innovate.

Concrete works from three families of movement: the organic chapter Roll unravels a sense of continuity and evolution where one movement flows seamlessly into another. The movements are powerful and resonate the changing nature of life. The rhythmic and dynamic chapter Weave is a visual spectacle where three bodies intertwine to create living images, harmonious and expressive. The final chapter Stay defies the laws of gravity and forges an unbreakable bond between the acrobats and the wall, tilting the perspective. Knot on Hands zooms in and slows down, bringing partner acrobatics to its core. With this trilogy, they set a mechanism in motion time and again, that is essentially infinite.
The trio from the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium met at Codarts Circus Arts in Rotterdam and since then Britt Timmermans (1997), Mario Kunzi (1993) and Tijs Bastiaens (1997) have formed Knot on Hands. From an early age they were fascinated by partner acrobatics. After graduating in 2017, they brought a first version of their debut performance Brace for Impact to an evening for young talents. Since then, they have been on tour with this performance, won the BNG Bank Circus Prize in 2019, the Special Prize of the 7 Fingers Company at the Young Stage Festival in Basel and developed the film and sitespecific performance Passing By in collaboration with Circusstad Festival Rotterdam in 2022. As a collective, they also play in performances by other artists such as in Bello! by the Italian company Fabbrica C and in Manchines by Camiel Corneille. In 2023 to 2024 they are Makers for two years at TENT house for Dutch-based contemporary circus.
