Technical coordination - Backstage Club's Saturday session is devoted to this crucial aspect of cultural production. Managers and artists, who have experience in coordinating tours globally will share their insight with the participants. Join us and let's dive into the universe of technical riders together!
Whether you are an artist or a production manager, you regularly encounter the issues of setting up an event or a production and you often find yourselves discussing technical riders.
- “How many people can be seated and in what ways?”
- “Is there anything in the show that requires special announcements? Is this show accessible?”
- “How will you transport your set?”
- “How much time do you need for set-up?”
Once you start touring, it also becomes clear that the answers to these questions might differ in each venue, as well as the standard practices in each country.
A moment to take a pause, reflect and think about the methods we use, the way we work and interact. A team of international producers launch a discussion and workshop on cross-border collaborations in an informal setting.

Backstage Club is an international workshop series tackling key aspects of international collaborations. The event series is open to artists and cultural professionals locally and internationally as well. It aims to foster knowledge sharing by involving key experts in the field as workshop facilitators, initiate collaborative thinking among the participants on the topics and improve awareness among cultural professionals and artists of international opportunities (such as funding and partnership development).
Backstage Club is an initiative of NextStage, a Creative Europe funded program. NextStage offers an international incubation program for a new generation of managers, who can collaborate with more experienced colleagues to create safe spaces and sustainable career paths for emerging and mid-career artists. https://nextstageproject.com/
