gergő d. farkas, Balázs Oláh and Júlia Vavra are contemporary dancers and emerging choreographers, who are already well-known and recognised in the local scene thanks to their diverse artistic endeavours, some of which are also part of the Nextfest programme. The Folk Dance workshop was their first collaboration in 2021, which they decided to continue after a highly successful debut in Turbina and will now develop further with you.
Julcsi, Balázs and Gergő held their first folk dance class in 2021 as part of the OMOH moves LGBTQ+ inclusive workshop series. Their goal was to create a space where everyone can feel safe and try out any role, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation.
For Nextfest, they are preparing a relaxed, dance-hall-style workshop that you can join without any previous experience. Participants are invited to join a combination of group, couple and circle dances.
This event is part of the 5th edition of NEXTFEST, Trafó's very own mini festival, with which it celebrates new forms, emerging artists and the joy of experimentation each year. Please find the full festival programme here, most events are English-friendly!
