Verzio International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival, the only festival of its kind in Hungary, has been organized on an annual basis since 2004. It aims to promote open society, democratic values, rule-of-law, freedom of expression, political and cultural pluralism, and to expose abuse and global human rights violations through creative, quality documentaries.

November 8. 20h: Srbenka (r. Nebojša Slijepčević , Croatia, 2018 ,72', croatian)
Rehearsals for an avant-garde, immersive play about the 1991 murder of a Serbian girl in Zagreb becomes a complex trauma therapy. The 12-year-old star, Nina, feels as if the war never ended. Award: Sarajevo Film Festival 2018, Best Documentary Film, Audience Award

November 9. 18h: The Poetess (r.: Stefanie Brockhaus, Andy Wolff, Germany , 2017, 90', Arabic, English)
Saudi poetess Hissa Hilal is the first woman to reach the finals in the popular Abu Dhabi TV show, Million’s Poet. An inspiring story of a woman risking her personal safety to critique patriarchal society, in front of 70 million viewers.
