“The art of our region, including the one of our country, can only be visible, interpreted or even interesting for the outside world, if we use the very same language for art that is used all around the world today.”
Roundtable, as part of RSVP discussion series, deals with place, role and possibilities of critical theories in contemporary art discussions, including different local artistic positions. During the discussion, art pieces by Ákos Birkás, István Csákány, Tamás Kaszás and the Little Warsaw will be explored in the light of various critical theories, as well as theoretical approaches in general that examine art pieces in society with regard of their place and circumstances of origin.
The discussion is connected to the Critical Theories and Locality conference organized in occasion of the 2013/3 issue of Ars Hungarica. Click here for more information of the conference.
