Have you ever wondered who you share the audience with? Would you like to meet people who are drawn to similar programmes and experiences as you are?

Trafó+1 is a new community around Trafó. We come together around selected Trafó programmes: before a performance, film screening or exhibition, we meet for a relaxed and playful get-together where we get to know one another and tune into what we are about to experience together. Then we see the programme together, and if we feel like it, we stay afterwards to talk about it.

The aim of Trafó+1 is to make Trafó a genuine meeting point and to create opportunities for people who are passionate about culture to form new connections through Trafó.

For our first gathering, we invite you to Cooking Sections: The House That Pigs Built.

During the event, you will have the chance to explore the exhibition from a different perspective and discover it together with new people.

You don’t need to know anyone. All you need is an openness to connecting with others and a sense of curiosity. Come on your own or bring your friends — together, we are creating a community within Trafó+1 that feels good to arrive at, to spend time in, and to return to.

Cooking Sections: The House That Pigs Built

Where do pigs end and we begin?

The projects of Cooking Sections (Daniel Fernández Pascual and Alon Schwabe) observe, investigate and analyse our transforming landscapes through the lens of food, exploring the metabolic networks of industrial food production and the effects of climate change on the way we eat. Working at the intersection of art, architecture, ecology and geopolitics, their latest exhibition is based on several years of research conducted in collaboration with historian of science Hannah Landecker, and invites us to reconsider our relationship with industrial livestock farming and, in particular, with pigs.

In a space reminiscent of an apartment at Trafó Gallery, a story unfolds through a variety of objects, giving voice to the invisible infrastructures that nevertheless shape our everyday lives. A polyphonic chorus of furniture, household objects and architectural elements tells the story of how pigs’ bodies are transformed into materials that become part of our surroundings — and how this process, in turn, affects the bodies of pigs and the industry that produces these materials.
