This enigmatic phrase was written on the poster advertising the dance education I signed up for.
It sounded like a fairytale pact with the devil.
In the third creative process of SubLab this year, under the guidance of Emese Cuhorka, the dancers delve deep into their relationship with dance.
“I yearn for those fiery, glowing eyes, for those who sink their iron teeth into the wheels of time and, on the chariot of their relentless passion, take me to a place where I don’t understand what’s happening, but I am captivated by the uniquely personal rhythm of what unfolds before my eyes.
Dazzle me, sweep me away from the spreading butter on bread!”
SUB.LAB.PRO is a creative platform for contemporary dancers to expand their technical and creative capabilities through choreographic creations. The program is designed to foster a realistic appreciation of a professional company-like environment by offering a complete tool kit to sustain and nourish the dancers at the start of their career paths. During the training, 4 different choreographers will create a full evening performance for the dancers, and the company will present the finished work on the Trafó Main Stage.

"I graduated from the Budapest Contemporary Dance Academy in 2011. The perspective and knowledge I gained here gave me the courage to work outside my comfort zone as a professional artist.
I have been working with Hodworks for 14 years. The approach of Adrienn Hód to body and personality since 2007, researching the humor of movement and human relationships with László Fülöp since 2009, the reinterpretations of sub-cultures with Csaba Molnár since 2014, have all had a deep impact on me. Six of our performances won the Hungarian Rudolf Laban Award."
