Ágens created a unique, individual style for herself, which derives elements from jazz, and her previous excursions into blues, classical, rock, pop, and folk music. Her initial performances were entirely improvised, but later on her compositions became more and more defined and precise. Her singing combines operatic intonation with a guttural voice, a falsetto and – she confesses – animal-like sounds. It is thus more fitting to classify her productions as „art of sound” rather than singing in the classical sense. „The sounds burst forth from the throat, the larynx, the stomach, from the whole body, the whole being. It is as if Ágens’ aim were not only to toss songs into the air, but to use her voice to seize us, the audience, and transport us onto a higher dimension.” (Periferic Records)
