Formas Breves (Brief Forms) is a new phase of research developed by Lia Rodrigues Companhia de Danças for the creation of “Buscou-se, então, falar a partir dele e não sobre ele” (They tried, then, to speak from him and not about him) which honors the Bauhaus artist Oskar Schlemmer. It was co-produced by Culturgest (Lisboa) and premiered in Portugal in January 2002. Formas Breves arose in the intersection zone between Schlemmer’s ideas and “Six Proposals for the Next Millennium”, by Italo Calvino, theme of Dança Brasil festival promoted by Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (Rio de Janeiro) where it was presented for the first time in April, 2002 with great success.
Formas Breves is a co-production with Culturgest/Caixa Geral de Depósitos. Brasil Telecom and Brazilian Ministry of Culture sponsor Lia Rodrigues Companhia de Danças.
