To kick off the UH Fest Phill Niblock will present a special three hour-long opening concert of his works, featuring two quartets led by Hilary Jeffery and Christian Kobi. Juho Laitinen will also play a brand new Niblock piece on cello. Opening proceedings will be Thomas Ankersmit, exploring the sound phenomenon known as otoacoustic emission via a performance using a Serge analogue synth
