Persephone is a Budapest-based party series and community platform for queer women, lesbian, bisexual, trans and nonbinary people.

Since their formation in 2018, you've been able to see their progressive parties at several venues, including Gólya, Edith, the Centre and Lärm.

They are dedicated to representing FLINTA (German acronym for frau/woman, lesbian, intersex, non-binary, trans, agender) musicians and artists and creating an open and inclusive space  for the audience, where everyone can party freely, regardless of identity and sexual orientation.

This is what Kali and fr33skid, two main members of the collective, are bringing for you at NEXTFEST.

The event is part of the LGBT History Month programme, which aims to showcase the presence of LGBT people in history, the LGBT past in Hungary and abroad, and the values created by minority members, while also playing an important role in building the LGBT community. For more information on the series of events, visit the LGBT History Month website and Facebook page.

The program is presented as part of NEXTFEST’s special feminist focus. 8th March is International Women's Day and since 2018 it is also Transnational Feminist Strike Day. We celebrate this occasion by sharing the work of artists who work with a feminist approach.

NEXTFEST is Trafó's very own mini festival, with which it showcases new forms, emerging artists and the joy of experimentation each year. Please find the full festival programme here, most events are English-friendly!
