On this evening, Trafó launches its new transdisciplinary party series, RESIDENCY, where each time a guest curator — who may be a DJ, producer, light or sound designer, visual artist, choreographer — shapes the unique atmosphere through a liberating encounter between sound, space, and bodies. Trafó is the fixed point, everything else is variable and in motion.

“As algorithmic control, surveillance regimes, and corrupt tech companies infiltrate every aspect of our lives, both corporeal and virtual, the need for new emancipatory narratives is undeniable. Rather than dissecting systems through research or data, Refusal Model presents a night of collective disobedience, rendering the logics of control as something felt rather than explained. Through distorted sounds, unstable choreographies, and flickering visuals, the invited artists trace the symptoms of living under algorithmic rule: the confusion between freedom and automation, intimacy and exposure, signal and noise.
In Hungary’s increasingly surveilled and centralized technofascist landscape, where state power and corporate networks converge, the event proposes sensorial and poetic counter-worlds at the intersection of visual arts, contemporary dance, and rave culture. These performances do not illustrate resistance; they enact it. Refusal Model at Trafó Klub invites audiences to inhabit this unstable space of interference, where each gesture becomes a glitch, a refusal to comply with the metrics of visibility and efficiency that define our era.” (Áron Lődi)

Áron Lődi (b. 1996, HU) lives and works in The Hague. He holds an MFA from the Dirty Art Department from Sandberg Institute (2023). His works have been featured in various international group shows, including Torula (Győr), Loods6 (Amsterdam), Promise of Kneropy (Bratislava), Jedna Dva Tri Gallery (Prague), LAM (Budapest), and Vunu Gallery (Kosice). Lődi works across a wide range of disciplines from sculpture, image-making, and writing to publishing and curatorial collaborations. His practice embraces the coalescence of horror stories and emancipatory possibilities to create multi-layered narratives about individual and collective agency in the face of contemporary crises. He is a founding member of the U&K Magazine publishing project and one half of the artist duo Alagya.
