Artificial Realities - Day 1
On the opening night of Trafó’s Artificial Realities focus, we start out in a dystopian shopping mall and end up in a strange DIY workshop, where pieces of the online world lie scattered around. We travel not only in a sensory sense, but also physically, as we move between two different venues—Merlin and Trafó—during the evening.
The program opens at Merlin with Trevoga, a young Amsterdam-based collective and the Hungarian debut of their internationally touring performance 11 3 8 7 [Rebody]. From here, we move on to Trafó, where Júlia Keserű, activist and researcher working at the intersection of technology and justice, will hold the focus’ opening speech. This is followed by (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ screamage, a multimedia performance by Slovenian choreographer Jan Rozman, who blurs the boundaries between physical and virtual reality.

Artificial Realities - Day 2
On the second evening of Trafó’s new focus on Artificial Realities, we follow another dramaturgy: we start from tangible reality and gradually move into an artificially generated universe—not only in a sensory sense, but also in a physical sense, as we move between two different venues, Trafó and Merlin, during the evening.
The program opens with Jan Rozman's multimedia performance (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ screamage at Trafó. The evening continues at Merlin with the internationally acknowledged performance 11 3 8 7 [Rebody] by the young Amsterdam-based collective Trevoga.

Artificial Realities - Day 3
The third day of the focus is on dance and technology. You can play, you can learn.
As part of Trafó's Creative Europe project MODINA, we present two new works in one evening. Before the performances, Hollow, the Hungarian artists supported by MODINA collaboration, will give an artist talk and workshop.
In Trafó’s Main Hall, Gaitless invites you to play a game – we try to outsmart AI-controlled cameras in an interactive dance space: will you reach the safe, or will the alarm go off?
In the Club, Still Moving creates a space where movement meets language with the help of mixed reality (MR).

Artificial Realities - Day 4-5
What can we do about the misinformation that prevails today, and what role does artificial intelligence play in this? Arkadi Zaides uses the story of the Chernobyl disaster to talk about how we have manipulated reality in the past and how we do so today.
And what is the role of machine learning in artistic practice? This question is explored by students and teachers of electronic music composition at the Liszt Academy of Music and the University of Pécs EzmBA, who believe that "while we entrust increasingly complex tasks to algorithms, control always remains in the hands of the creator."
The second weekend of Artificial Realities features a powerful documentary performance by internationally acknowledged choreographer Arkadi Zaides on Trafó’s main stage. Meanwhile in the Club you can be part of AI-based musical experiments and deep listening sessions by students and teachers from the electronic music and sound art departments of the Liszt Academy and the Faculty of Arts at the University of Pécs.
