On the second evening of Trafó’s new focus on Artificial Realities, we follow another dramaturgy: we start from tangible reality and gradually move into an artificially generated universe—not only in a sensory sense, but also in a physical sense, as we move between two different venues, Trafó and Merlin, during the evening.
The program opens with Jan Rozman's multimedia performance (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ screamage at Trafó. Working with the absurdity of meme culture and cutting-edge humor, the Slovenian choreographer translates the logic of the Internet into physical space and tangible action. Trafó’s main stage is transformed into a subversive DIY workshop where the digital world is taken apart piece by piece.
The evening continues at Merlin with the internationally acknowledged performance 11 3 8 7 [Rebody] by the young Amsterdam-based collective Trevoga. Reminiscent of an AI-generated TV show or an eerie dream, three avatar-like figures draw us into an alternative, yet strangely familiar universe. Inspired by the lavish fantasies we fabricate online and their conflicting relation with the increasingly hostile reality around us, Trevoga invites us into their world of bold artistic experimentation and dystopian imagination.
