Film Club – Don’t Just Watch!

The first independent event organised by the Trafó Student Reporter team. We are launching a monthly film club where, on each occasion, we watch a film connected to a shared theme and then talk about it together. This is the first event at Trafó entirely organised and led by young people.

Since our first event falls right in the middle of spooky season, we are celebrating Halloween with Brian De Palma’s 1976 classic, Carrie. Based on Stephen King’s novel, the film is not only the story of a teenager with supernatural abilities, but also an exploration of how communities work, exclusion, school hierarchies, power, and what happens when someone is kept outside a community for a long time.

After the screening, the student reporters will lead a conversation where we can reflect together on what we have seen. And, in the spirit of Halloween, we’ll round off the evening with a series of horror storytelling exercises.

The film club is not for film experts. It’s a relaxed, conversational evening for anyone who enjoys watching films, asking questions, or is simply curious about what other people see in the same story.

Come in costume and help us make the evening even more festive! The most creative costumes can win some “valuable” prizes.
