TRAFÓ. TURNS YOU ON. AT HOME.

TRAFÓ. TURNS YOU ON. AT HOME.

Dear Viewers and Friends,
We are all unexpectedly affected by the worldwide epidemic. After the governmental announcement on 12th March we shut down immediately and canceled all remaining events of the Trafó until further notice. We managed to refund the tickets for the canceled performances in the ticket office, but after a few days we closed it in order to protect the health of our employees and visitors. The majority of our colleagues switched to home office mode.

As we are getting ready for the upcoming theatre season, we are moving those parts of our content into the digital space which can provide us the contemporary art experiences in these difficult times. So we are looking for the new media and new interfaces to stay connected to you all in order to strengthen the community which gives the soul of the Trafo.

We offer various programs through online platforms: the Take a Seat! online Trafo Evenings series launched on 28th March at 8 p.m. provides a unique opportunity to enjoy on ten Saturday nights. We screen performances which cannot be accessed through social video sharing sites. These are legendary old or popular new productions which can be linked to the Trafo. On 30th May AV Composers: the 50th anniversary event of our smART! XTRA art&tech program series will be available to those who pre-book a seat in our virtual auditorium (by clicking HERE).

Our Facebook page is running different daily games and we are constantly updating it with cultural news and recommendations. We started new blog series, in which Trafó-related Hungarian artists give an insight to their everyday lives, plans or thoughts during the lockdown.

We also join the movement to highlight the worsening situation of the independent artists that has now become even more insecure. Trafó considers it particularly important to foster initiatives that support the work of the independent creatives. We also provide opportunity to donate artists through the Take a Seat! online events. Last but not least, we as the host of the contemporary independent scene, would like to thank you for all your support and for bearing Trafó’s VAT number, 21455584-2-43, in mind when making your annual 1% tax donations.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, kind words and encouraging messages. Until we can meet again stay connected to recharge and give each other strength. Stay safe at home and take care of everyone!
