International collaborations – where to start and how to develop them?
Join a team of international producers for a discussion and workshop on cross-border collaborations in an informal setting.
During this session we will focus on the possibilities of developing international collaborations in the performing arts field. We take a moment’s pause to reflect on and think about the methods we use, the way we work and interact. We will explore aspects of partnership development – where to meet them, what are the foundations of a successful cooperation between partners?
What are the roles and possibilities of an artist and a manager in the international sphere?
Join us if you are:
- an artist interested in being involved in international projects;
- a cultural producer or professional seeking (new) international collaboration opportunities;
- interested to explore what types of possibilities exist beyond selling productions and touring.

Backstage Club is an international workshop series tackling key aspects of international collaborations. The event series is open to artists and cultural professionals locally and internationally as well. It aims to foster knowledge sharing by involving key experts in the field as workshop facilitators, initiate collaborative thinking among the participants on the topics and improve awareness among cultural professionals and artists of international opportunities (such as funding and partnership development).
Backstage Club is an initiative of NextStage, a Creative Europe funded program. NextStage offers an international incubation program for a new generation of managers, who can collaborate with more experienced colleagues to create safe spaces and sustainable career paths for emerging and mid-career artists. https://nextstageproject.com/
