Methods for Irreversibly Trasforming Money

A project for Trafo Gallery, Budapest, by Cesare Pietroiusti and Paul Griffiths, curated by Hajnalka Somogyi with the participation of Pierluigi Sacco

Pietroiusti and Griffiths will collect money and research as many ways as possible to irreversibly alter the material out of which paper money is made through physical, chemical, or biological processes. You may send in one or more bank-notes in a currency that is in use, as long as their value seems significant to you.

From October 19th to the 22nd , at Trafo Gallery, all the ways of transforming paper money will be enacted.

At the end of the exhibition, the residue of the bank-notes will be returned to each sender with a certificate.

Please send your bank-notes (and possibly confirm by email) by October 10th to: Hajnalka Somogyi Trafo - House of Contemporary Arts 41 Liliom St. 1094 Budapest – Hungary

The updated list of all the bank-notes that we receive will be available on Trafo Gallery's website. www.trafo.hu info: hajni@trafo.hu returned to each sender with a certificate.
