Since its founding in 1996, Raster-Media (formerly Raster-Noton) has established itself as an international platform and label for experimental electronic music, driven by the diverse contributions of its associated artists. The label aims to release groundbreaking electronic music and to create spaces for future-oriented experiments, with a strong focus on serial concepts and audiovisual forms of presentation.

In addition to music, which has influenced future generations through its production techniques, Raster-Media has published books, award-winning data carriers, and graphics. It is also involved in installation works, often realized in collaboration with renowned institutions such as ZKM/Karlsruhe, TodaysArt/The Hague, Lenbachhaus/Munich, Ruhrtriennale/Bochum, and the Museum of Contemporary Art/Toronto.

Since 2005, Raster-Media has hosted the non-commercial music festival "Electric Campfire." Originally started as a private party, the festival was held annually at the Villa Massimo German Academy in Rome between 2007 and 2017. Since 2018, the festival has taken place at different locations every year, with the goal of fostering real exchange between artists and community.
