What gives the essence of Soharóza? The new sound qualities born from experimentation? The electronic choral theatre of catwalk concerts? Or is it the reimagining of existing songs and weaving them through and through? We have cut ourselves back to get to the core of our repertoire: this is the material we now present to you on our mosaic tray.
In recent years, Soharóza has been most often seen at the Trafó through our highly successful catwalk concerts - out of costume, in costume, inflated, spliced, painted, pinned, ironed, and put on the speaker. Now we take to the stage without any of that, using only our own bodies. Continuing the experiment that is the basis of Soharóza.
Sunrise concerts, Songs from the Pantry, The Mexican Suitcase, Ördögkatlan Festival Opening, Surface Tension, Ohrid Choir Festival, Eastern Block, Ball at the Opera, Einstein on the Beach, Kelenföld Power Plant... Tracing the past 16 years of Soharóza, these call words may all sound familiar, and for us they each mark an important project and period. Well, we thought of one, spun our favourite material and, reinventing ourselves, we wove a decade and a half into an all-in repertoire concert in half a year. Alongside the songs, of course, we complete it with choral improvisation games.
