Max Levy - Célia Bétourné: Temporal Spaces

Complex multi-layered motion capture, active sound generation and visual projections.

Temporal Spaces is an interactive installation guided by the viewers' movement and requires active participation from a part of the audience. The project includes complex multi-layered motion capture, active sound generation and visual projections.

The installation is based on an open space in which audience members can interact with the motion capture system and even generate their own music and record their own dance/choreography. Finally, they can compare their work with recordings of previous participants. The installation uses a simple but rigorous combination of audiovisual tools and lights. It encourages curiosity and contemplation, while creating an intimate environment with the dancers, which of course depends largely on the composition of the audience and the extent of their participation/observation. The performance restarts every 45 minutes, but you can join in anytime.

Dance is constantly and uncontrollably evolving. One of its most dynamic areas is the application of available technological innovations to artistic expression. Due to a lack of money, very few domestic artists have the opportunity to explore and explore this field. Thanks to the MODINA programme, funded by Creative Europe, we can now see how research is being done in Europe through three productions.
