Nemesis Part 1 (duration 40 mins) The result of a series of collaborations with artists working at the height of their fields, Nemesis explores the relationship between body and screen - a live stage and visual work for ten dancers drawing on themes of virtual reality in the context of a highly developed dance experience. Nemesis explores emotion and mood, making explicit a non-linear, visually literate and communicative world. Polar Sequences (duration 25 mins) Wayne McGregor's Polar Sequences engages the concept of ‘polar’ in both geographic and magnetic senses, translating into a choreography that has quickly become a signature piece which embraces a passionate evangelism for dance. McGregor courts complexity in this work with dance that is fast, bizarre, intricate, and physically brutal. Constantly evolving his practise, McGregor creates work that suggests alternative realities, where sensory landscapes collide with breathtakingly strange movement to build an alien universe. The dancers perform upon an elegantly restrained, off kilter stage with a physical prowess that denies all limits.
