Two young boys are selecting music of the early sixties from a jukebox. Beside them is another jukebox where two men are browsing through music of the seventies. The provocative, adolescent ardour of the two boys lives on in a more refined, restrained form, but who follows whom – either metaphorically or in a very concrete sense – is at times very difficult to tell. Two musical worlds, the life feeling of two different generations is in the focus of the latest dance performance by Compagnie ngc25, and the basic question is what it means to be a man as a teenager or twenty years later. Hervé Maigret from Nantes, leader of the company founded in 1998, has lived in the world of contemporary dance since childhood and is one of the most acclaimed choreographers and dancers in Europe.
