based on Panchatantra, the oldest remained collection of Sanskrit fables
The Panchatantra (Five Principles), a collection of fables composed in Sanskrit in the 2nd or 3rd century, is an old Indian book teaching "the wise conduct of life" that uses stories mainly from the world of animals to illustrate the moral teaching in a both funny and dramatic way. The original aim of the political attitude, felt to a certain degree in the stories, was to educate in the science of politics. The animals in the fables represent human types and relationships: the lion is the king of animals and an image of the maharaja, the jackal is the counterpart of the minister, while the conflict of the sparrow and the elephant exemplifies the conflict between the ordinary man and those in power.
The musical world of the production is created by Mihály Dresch and his band/orchestra. The language of the performance turns into a whole by the combined use of movement, dance, visuality, music and speech, and its aim is to translate this ancient collection of fables into a contemporary theatrical language.
