A senior employee of the Lebanese Ministry of Finance is reported as missing by his wife. He has disappeared without a trace. Has he gone abroad to stay with a lover? Or has he fallen victim to a crime? At the same time, a briefcase full of money has likewise disappeared. Every day, the papers carry new and contradictory items: official statements try to buy time until the case has been cleared, while the man’s family express their anguish. Beirut-based author, director and performer Rabih Mroué takes on the role of a detective: he follows the news reports, meticulously collects all relevant items and documents the increasingly murky turn of events.
