A self-portrait of two presences, two men. On the stage Dirk Roofthooft’s physical performance and the score by the composer and pianist Kris Defoort engage in an intimate dialogue where sounds, voices and rhythms combine to shake up people and things completely. Brodsky said that a poem is not a monologue, but a conversation between the writer and the reader, the sharing of two solitudes. In this sense, the actor or performer’s role is to captivate the listener and give him the essence of what is intended for him.
Dirk Roofthooft and Kris Defoort, both established artists, guarantee us a high quality evening, but the marvel will certainly be what these two talented improvisers will discover on stage at the same time as we do!
