The inspiration for this play’s title came to me in my home town when, while waiting at an intersection, I was looking at a group of girls waiting at the bus stop. They had full backpacks and their faces were made up. Each one was waiting for her own bus. All that space around them. They were not talking to each other. They were not looking at each other. Waiting for the light to turn green – in that moment – the title of this play came to me. From that moment on the only thing I’ve been doing is following those two words. I waited. And I waited some more. I don’t know what happened after that; but I think it has to do with the portrait of a human heart. Someone wakes up, gets up, and gets ready to go out. They go out. End of story. It could last as long as a day, or a year, like a calendar. (Romeo Castellucci)
