POST-SHOW DISCUSSION
On 8 November Katalin Lőrinc (dancer, dance-critic) will be talking with the creators after the performance (in English and Hungarian). Everybody is welcome!

Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar have collaborated for the past decade. Eyal was a dancer with Batsheva Dance Company from 1990 until 2008, served as Associate Artistic Director between 2003 and 2004, and assumed the role of House Choreographer in 2005. Behar was a producer of live music, techno raves, and underground art events in Tel Aviv before joining forces with Eyal. This past year, they formed their own company, L.E.V., with a creative force of dancers, designers, and their composer and collaborator Ori Lichtik, who has created music as well as DJs live for most of their work. Their integration of technology and dance is equally suited for the Trafó stage or a techno club. This explosive company is the confluence of movement, music, lighting, fashion, art and technology – each uniquely expressive while emotionally entwined.

"House was, in my eyes, a love letter to dance. It was sexy, naughty, dirty, suggestive and delicious. The nearly nude dancers, each one fiercer than the next, moved like they had been sprinkled with magic powder. I loved the risky feeling I got sitting in the audience. As if Eyal was leading me into some shady back alley of the dance world that I wasn’t sure I should be allowed to visit. There is something truly voyeuristic about watching her pieces. Like glancing through a keyhole at the girl next door while she changes. But with all that said, I didn’t recognize the real genius of Eyal until it hit me in the face while watching House. The piece was deeply atmospheric. And at the same time, it read like a kind of homage to American modern dance from the 1960s. ... The clean lines, shifting formations and dynamics let me see dance as I want it to be, know it should be and don’t get to see enough." (Ori J. Lenkinski, 972mag.com)
