ELECTRIFY is Trafó’s new concert series for adventurous electronic music featuring progressive contemporary artists, exciting discoveries and innovative experiments. The second installation, evolved into a mini festival, presents the legendary electronic pioneer Vladislav Delay, dreamcatcher magician Forest Swords, duo of chaos pop wunderkind Micachu and vocalist Tirzah and a special performance by acclaimed theremin player Pamelia Kurstin.

VLADISLAV DELAY
Sasu Ripatti aka Vladislav Delay, in the shadow of his pseudonyms, is a drummer and electronic musician from Finland. Known for uniquely distorted takes on a variety of electronic music, his signature sound is often infused with elements of dub, pop and ambient experimental sounds. It combines arrhythmic structures with aleatory elements and sensual, layered textures.

FOREST SWORDS
Matthew Barnes, known by his stage name Forest Swords is an English music producer and artist. A unique blend of jagged hip-hop and R&B beats, looping guitar lines and manipulated samples, his evocative and emotional music reflects the sprawling Wirral landscape of river, coastland and woodland with all the haunting melodies of nearby city Liverpool’s enviable pop history.

TIRZAH & MICACHU
Mica Levi, known by her stage name Micachu, is an English singer, songwriter, composer,and producer. She is classically trained and is best known for experimental music in a variety of genres.

PAMELA KURSTIN
Pamelia Kurstin is a world-renowned thereminist who has played and recorded with such prestigious artists as David Byrne and Béla Fleck and the Fleckstones and has performed on the television show Saturday Night Live. Her musical training on the upright bass has led to her unique “walking bass” theremin technique.
