Hungarian director and producer Kornél Mundruczó transposes the post-apartheid novel by Nobel Prize winner J.M. Coetzee to his world of merciless reality theatre. He sees in it a parable of the fears of a Europe – and particularly Hungary – confronted with radical change. Mundruczó’s production is a vitriolic lampooning of hatred and exclusion.
