Everyone longs for something. Everyone pines, lacks something, feels angst.
No one wants to be alone. Still, we spend our days in complete solitude:
lying on the bed, sitting on the chair, standing next to the washing machine,
putting on some music, eyeing each other, nodding, standing at the bar,
picking up the glass, falling asleep, going to a meeting, avoiding the others'
glances, turning the lights on, putting a film on, warming up some food,
not eating, not sleeping, eyeing the ceiling, listening to the neighbor's footfall,
wondering why this is all happening to us, finally throwing our stuffed bags
on the floor of the grocery store, shouting: can't you see how deeply,
how unbearably I'm suffering?
