Post-show talk with Sergiu Matis

Sustainable scenography

After the performance on Sunday 26 January, Katalin Erdődi, Trafó's new director will talk to choreographer Sergiu Matis about his ideas on sustainable scenography and how they have shaped the way he thinks about the staging of Warp Renderings. Matis has long been concerned with ecological issues, which he also considers as part of the creative process, striving for more sustainable ways of working. One of his strategies is to use materials from the host institution’s storage for his scenography. But is it that simple? Taking a closer look at the set and props of the performance from this perspective, the talk will delve into the questions and challenges involved.

The talk will be held in English, with Hungarian translation available on request.

The event is part of a new cooperation project between the Goethe Institut and the French Institute, which focuses on sustainable scenography and is supported by the French-German Cultural Fund.
