OVERGROUND Dancing Cities - Budapest

All We Can Do is video series initiated in 2012, by French film makers for showcasing various dance videos internationally, characterized by different methods of filming. These videos are caught in places with a strong visual impact, far from ordinary flat stages. The short scenes allow the viewer to meet different dancers from around the globe, to listen to their different visions of dance and witness the short choreography realized by the filmmaker and the dancer during this project. The French team arrived to Budapest in 2018, in order to work with local choreographers. Ten short dance films and OVERGROUND Dancing Cities - Budapest, an almost twenty-minute series of etudes were realised during the intense filming period. The principle of the series is the spontaneity of the moment, to encourage improvisation as a tool to explore and capture movement.

The All We Can Do / Budapest co-production program is part of the Parallel Art Foundation's dance film project, which aims to promote the dance video genre, as well as to encourage Hungarian dance artists for filmmaking through events like Serpentine Dance Film Festival, What is Dance? documentary film club and Hungarian dance film screenings abroad.
