31.01.2025 FRIDAY

18:00 Theatre Hall / sharing the dance – Improvisation Jam guided by Eszter Gál

Improvisation Jam is a shared space where we meet in the dance. We begin our practice by arriving into the body, fine-tuning to both internal and external impulses. As our attention travels through our bodies and gradually opens up to our partners and the space, we become ready and available to connect. As we move, we are being moved and almost without noticing we may find ourselves in the unknown, mostly in the unexpected situations of improvisation... from there the space is open... and we are sharing the dance…

Eszter Gál teaching and performing improvisation more than thirty years in Hungary and abroad.

01.02.2025 SATURDAY

12:00 Studio / Border(less) - Freeszfe theatre workshop - Regina Bácsics, Viola Vass & Ella Fazekas

Improvisation and spontaneity can be difficult for many of us. But our everyday life often requires immediate action.

The goal of our workshop is for participants to collectively explore situations that may fall outside their individual comfort zones and require pushing back personal inhibitions through the genre of improvisation. Through improvisational exercises, participants can immerse themselves in exciting boundary situations and experience how crossing or setting boundaries shapes everyday life.

However, our workshop is not therapeutic. What we‘re offering is simply the joy of playing, experiencing different connections and awakening our spontaneity.

Guided by: Regina Bácsics, Viola Vass & Ella Fazekas

18:00 Studio / Éghasadás - Patrik Ádám Keresztes, Zsombor Bodó, Kristóf Deák, Ákos Engelmann, András Engelmann

We are Éghasadás, a small music formation firstly born in the summer of 2021 in occasion of the Kolorádó Festival, followed by performances at Gólem and Ozora Festival as well.

We have developed several performative formats and during Willany Leó Festival we are pleased to share our concert-journey workshop called "traveling bodies".

Its togetherness consists of two parts: the first is a 30-minute introduction, during which we awaken our perceptions with guided imagination to get on the same vibration and create a shared space open for discovery. The second part is the journey itself, through which we are encouraged to reunite ourselves with nature, live with it as part of a bigger system, yet simultaneously finding a path to our independent universe.

The whole part is accompanied by a 50-60 minute improvisation on rhythm instruments, guiding the weather of the trip.

02.02.2025 SUNDAY

10:00 Theatre Hall / 3i PARTY - Sándor Petrovics, Márton Csuzi

3i LAB (Israel Inspired Improvisations) is a fantasy-based creative movement course

Access your pristine, fierce, and instinctual moves through your imagination!

The 3i LAB is a study-centered guided space, where we use extended time to focus on individual work. In this course, we will discover and link to our ongoing stream of fantasy that bends and forms our body, mind, and soul. This improvisational movement course endows a sense of freedom, and it helps you to feel more alive, aware, connected, and whole as a person as you expand your boundaries.

You’ll get familiar with a tool kit that allows you to learn how to draw strength, energy, and creativity from your body, imagination, and senses, embracing a movement language 100% authentic, independent, and yours. The classes are inspired by 3 Israeli movement methods: GAGA, Vertigo Dance Language and Ilan Lev Method.

During the improvisation guided by metaphors, we connect to our constantly flowing imagination, which shapes our body, mind and soul. The class is designed so that, due to body sensations, fantasy, joint struggle and the joy of hard work, everyone - from beginner to professional dancer - can develop at their own pace, regardless of previous training. We look forward to seeing you!

12:00 Studio / The Body Call - Máté Váth

The workshop explores the close connection between perception and movement, starting from the inner attention. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the layers of their inner world and to tell their own story through movement. The focus, however, will be on being in the moment: disconnected from the rush of everyday life and fully focused on living the present. In this way we can connect with our bodies and space, while letting go of external noise and allowing our inner impulses to guide us.

In the first part of the workshop, we will look at the "waves" perceived in the body and in space. We will use the rhythm of breathing, the body's internal impulses and the relationship with gravity to generate movement. These waves can be slow, flowing, fast, fragile, even chaotic - the aim is for everyone to work at their own pace and according to their own feelings. Exploring and experiencing the quality of movement is central to the session. What happens when the body is soft like water? What happens when it is sharp as a blade or solid as a stone? Through this section, participants are given the opportunity to experience different emotional and physical states in their movement, while experimenting with transitions between qualities. The relationship between the body and the surrounding space is also emphasized. We will experiment with changing textures - soft, rough, light or heavy sensations - to explore new ways of expressing movement.

In the last part of the workshop, the experience gained will be integrated in a free improvisation. In a short guided process, participants will jointly develop an inner journey where their own movements can be in harmony with those of others, while preserving their individual expression. This phase is about attuning to each other and creating a shared experience, while everyone is free to follow their inner impulses.

The aim of the class is for participants to deepen their connection with their own bodies and movements, while discovering the liberating power of improvisation. Through inner awareness, variety of movement and attunement to each other, they can share a collective experience that is inspiring, self-aware and communal.
