Willany Leó Showcase / Willany Leó Improvizációs Fesztivál

Providing the framework for these longer and shorter performances to be properly presented.
Recently, there have been produced a number of performances by the Willany Leó's dancers and with our beloved colleagues that have not yet had their official premiere. With the Willany Leó Showcase programme - which is deceptive, as these are not Willany Leó productions (!), we are only providing the framework - we would like to give these longer and shorter performances a chance to be properly presented.

GENUA: winds and waves
Creators and performers: Réka Oberfrank & Máté Váth

A genoa sail is a large jib that extends beyond the mast and overlaps the mainsail when viewed from the side, sometimes completely obscuring it. Originally known as an 'overlapping jib', it later became known as a 'genoa jib'. Its larger surface area increases the speed of the boat in light, moderate winds.

The duet is based on a special sail-like structure that has taken many forms and functions at various events under the hands of its creators. The Genua Project has appeared in numerous collaborations at concerts, music and dance festivals, always with a new role and meaning. Continuous development and experimentation is a priority: as well as perfecting technical solutions, we also explore the limits of the possibilities of movement.

In this production, the focus is on creating collective movement and harmony. The performers work together to show harmony, confidence and the power of shared rhythm in the sweeping movements of the sails. The performance is designed to take the audience out of the doldrums of everyday life for a moment. It invites them into a world where calm and the present moment prevail, where anxiety is replaced by a sense of harmony and lightness. It invites the viewer on a meditative journey, where they can become part of the beauty of the moment.

“Until It’s Too Late”
Creators and performers: Zsófia Temesvári & Kostas Charalampous

The duet explores the physical and emotional connection between two dancers, focusing on the raw power of movement rather than traditional storytelling. Their interactions reflect trust as they support each other, while control and tension are ever-present.

The piece reveals recurring patterns that can also be observed in human relationships. It invites the audience to experience the essence of movement, the unspoken dialogue of dance, and the timeless dynamics of connection.

So
Creator and performer: Patrik Ádám Keresztes
Music: Demissie Efraim & Patrik Ádám Keresztes

The question I kept asking myself was this: concrete or lino, pulsing house or trembling contemporary?
In the end, the music creation evenings spent with my friend Efri provided the answer: everything, all at once, with a little twist.
The best I can do is ride the waves of connection.

Are they advantages?
Are they disadvantages?
Are they true?
They exist.
Maybe, indeed, it’s easier to hide behind them, disguise the lack of self-confidence, fragility, emotions...
Is it worth it?
