UREDDA emerged spontaneously from the friendship of five musicians: Thighpaulsandra (Coil, Spiritualized), Massimo Pupillo (Zu), Paolo Mongardi (Zu), Mariagiulia Degli Amori, and Bruno Germano. Their cinematic sound brings together experimental post-punk, krautrock, and Mediterranean avant-garde. They perform their newly released debut album on Trafó’s stage, alongside Juli Deák, who opens the evening with her virtuosic flute music, combining rigorous classical training, improvisation, jazz, and folk music.
An evening on the frontiers of contemporary and experimental music that invites us to explore previously uncharted sonic worlds.
UREDDA (UK/IT)
Uredda came into being spontaneously. After a solo performance in Italy, Thighpaulsandra was invited by Massimo Pupillo and Paolo Mongardi to stay an extra week and experiment with some raw musical ideas in Bruno Germano’s studio. This encounter gave rise to an unexpected and entirely new sonic world.
The members share a deep artistic affinity and mutual respect. Thighpaulsandra formed part of Coil during its defining final year, was a member of Spiritualized, and has worked with Julian Cope and Elizabeth Fraser. His collaboration with Massimo Pupillo in their experimental duo URUK has already produced four acclaimed albums. Yet Uredda represents new, unexplored territory for all of them.
Their music brings together the raw energy of experimental post-punk, the cosmic sensibility of Krautrock, the atmospheric soundscapes of Talk Talk, and the hypnotic depths of the Mediterranean avant-garde. Moving away from Zu’s tightly structured, mathematically precise compositions, they create a more expansive, cinematic, and constantly evolving sonic landscape.
The band’s name originates from the Italian Caso Amicizia (“Friendship Case”), in which “Uredda” represents the vital energy of love, friendship, and agape. This idea lies at the heart of the band’s artistic vision: music as the meeting point of invisible forces, and collective creation as a way of tuning into something greater than ourselves.
Uredda explores the invisible threads of love, tension, and consciousness—the hidden energies that shape our reality and our human connections. A sophisticated, hypnotic, and deeply cinematic journey into an entirely new sonic world.

Juli Deák (HU)
Flutist, composer, and improviser Juli Deák has emerged as a distinct new voice shaping the contemporary scene with quiet focus. Born in Budapest to a Polish-Hungarian family, Juli began playing the flute at the age of seven, a path that led to extensive classical training in Kraków and Stockholm. Grounded in this rigorous academic foundation yet open to improvisation, jazz, and folk influences, her practice carries a rare depth and discipline. She introduced herself to the greater public in 2026 April after releasing her solo debut album, Brisk (thanatosis) and presenting it at festivals such as Intonal, Norbergfestival and MENT Ljubljana.
Juli’s artistic focus centers on the physicality of the instrument, treating the flute as an extension of her body during performances. Rather than masking the uncomfortable, she foregrounds the hidden sounds by amplifying breath, air, distortion, and the mechanical noises of the keys and metal. In the center of her works lies circular breathing, that showcases her extraordinary virtuosity while maintaining a posture of profound humility and patience. On the stage Juli is not afraid to show her vulnerability and the human behind the instrumentalist, as well as embracing her female voice and uncompromising artistic choices on stage.
Her commitment to shared exploration has led to collaborations with various symphony orchestras and jazz groups, including her latest project with Abdullah Miniawy and Isak Hedtjärn, The Evens, Rahma, already presented in Berlin and London. This autumn will see Juli continue to expand her sonic universe through her upcoming European album release touring, new cross-genre collaborations and preparations for her second release.
In her words, “I am creating stillness in motion.”
