On 31 January Hedvig Fekete dancer, choreograpger will be talking with Wim Vandekeybus choreographer after the performance (in English with Hungarian translation). Everybody is welcome!

In 1987, Wim Vandekeybus – until then mainly known as a dancer with Jan Fabre – surprised everyone with his debut ‘What the Body Does Not Remember’. It was new, unseen and modern, not only in respect of the choreography but also because of the amazing score by the composers Thierry De Mey and Peter Vermeersch. It won Vandekeybus the prestigious Bessie Award (New York Dance and Performance Award) for what the jury described as a “brutal confrontation between dance and music.” Vandekeybus found his inspiration for the piece in fateful moments; moments in which it's too late for choices. He doesn't want to emphasise the meaning of such moments, but their radicalism. Vandekeybus’ dancers go to the very brink in their exploration of danger – and their last minute escapes create an impressive range of scenic moments. This remake, with a new cast, provides the ideal opportunity to discover Vandekeybus’ early work or to simply relieve his iconic performance.
