Every year on November 20, Transgender Day of Remembrance, we commemorate with respect and honor those who have fallen victim to transphobia. This day was established in 1999 by three transgender women (Gwendolyn Ann Smith, Nancy Nangeroni, and Jahaira DeAlto) to draw attention to the ongoing violence against transgender people.

About the screening:
Niñxs  - Screening at the 22nd Verzió Human Rights Documentary Film Festival - documentary film

Kani Lapuerta’s sensitive, hilarious, and life-affirming film was selected for the Doc Future competition at the 22nd Verzió Film Festival.

At the foot of Tepozteco, a sacred hill that governs the winds and fertility, lies the small town of Tepoztlán. Against this backdrop, 15-year-old Karla's body and mind are undergoing a revolution. While Karla navigates her transition, Kani shapes eight years of footage into a joyful film, as they handle the vagaries of a rural trans adolescence together.

About the ball:
TDOR Kiki Ball - by Anybody Walking - ballroom

Anybody Walking (Lilac 007 and Koni 007) would like to invite you on the 22nd of November to remember and celebrate the lives of trans people we lost in the past decades, whether it was due to transphobia or natural causes.
Ballroom is a culture created by and for transfem BIPoC (black, indigenous & people of color) as a space of resistance against the societal oppression of racism, colorism, misogynoir, queerphobia and transphobia that they were (and still to this day are) facing with.
Stepping into a ball, you agree to respect the foundation of the culture, that's inherently anti-colonial and anti-racist and BIPoC centered.
