Just you and your body in one space. Attax gives you the chance to look at yourself and your body from a new perspective, regardless of age or dance technique, with childlike playfulness and without shame. Pick a time, go alone into the Trafó Cabin, close the door behind you, take everything off, drop everything down and dance like there's no tomorrow.

In this intimate performance, you will experience through your own body, skin, curiosity and fears the sometimes over-mystified mystery that surrounds the subject of nudity in our adult lives. For perhaps the first time in your life, you can dance naked for 21 minutes in a theatre space, completely alone, with lights, a smoke machine, and a specially created soundtrack. The linearity of thought is broken, allowing you to experience a free creation outside the coordinate system of beautiful, ugly, good, bad, in which anything can be an offering to your imagination. You can spend time in a dynamic timelessness with your wordless self: your physicality. You can move without stakes or fear between your sensations, from stillness to ecstasy, with your most basic self: your unclothed body.

Trafó takes special care to provide a safe space for this spectatorless performance. The performance takes place in the Kabin, it is not equipped with cameras, the windows can be darkened and the door can be locked from the inside.

The sequence of actions at the chosen time is as follows:
closing the door from the inside, starting the music, activating the smoke machine button until the desired amount of smoke is reached (about 20 seconds), practical undressing, personal movement (recommended intensity in music), resting, mopping with water (still naked, preferably), dressing, airing, opening the door with a key, changing the mop water, leaving the room. The maximum time in the room is 35 minutes including all activities. Participants are under no obligation to share their experiences and no recordings will be made.

I wished. To be able to step out of what we are in, what we think about ourselves, what we dare to think, for a longer while. What we allow ourselves to experience of ourselves. Because in our everyday situations, everything is dangerous, it’s for high stakes, there is no space, no time to play. I wanted there to be a place where our age, our aloofness, our beauty, or our skill, defined through our culture, could lose its context. Where our naked dancing bodies, through dance, can transcend their ordinariness, and where everyone who lives only once can experience their bodies as a legitimate means of free expression.
I wanted to stop worrying about what the naked body means, what effect it has on any of us, whether anyone is beautiful or not. Wanted to let that go, and focus on what it is like as an autonomous organism, lost in our physicality, to experience ourselves, to enjoy the way our unique body moves with us.

I was preparing for a normal life, but I ended up graduating from the Budapest Contemporary Dance Academy in 2011. The perspective and knowledge I gained here gave me the courage to work outside my comfort zone as a professional artist.
I have been working with Hodworks for 14 years. The approach of Adrienn Hód to body and personality since 2007, researching the humor of movement and human relationships with László Fülöp since 2009, the reinterpretations of sub-cultures with Csaba Molnár since 2014, have all had a deep impact on me. Six of our performances won the Hungarian Rudolf Laban Award.

Krisztina Dányi

Her work navigates the realms of the uncanny and the familiar, exploring poetic text and cultural allusions while embracing the tangible essence of sound.
