2004 marks the 20th Anniversary Season of the Stephen Petronio Company. Petronio is one of the most innovative choreographers of his generation. His groundbreaking works have been widely acclaimed by critics and audiences throughout North America, Europe, and South America. He creates a movement language that is uniquely his own. Athletic, intuitive and sensual, this language speaks with raw and virtuosic force. New music, visual art and fashion collide with Petronio’s dances producing powerfully modern landscapes for the senses. Petronio has built a body of work with some of the most talented and provocative artists in the world. For this program he has collaborated with composers Laurie Anderson, Lou Reed, Blixa Bargeld, visual artist Cindy Sherman, and fashion designer Tara Subkoff/Imitation of Christ.
