Is chance nothing but a measure of our ignorance? Or is it the stuff of our lives, our freedom, the wind that swells the sails of humanity? Is it a wise helmsman, or a drunkard? Let’s take a cerebral and visceral look at chance – perhaps we will end up looking at one another.”
A mathematician gives a lecture on the notion of chance. In the meantime a dance performance is going on, one of whose organising principles is chance. The internal logic of the piece never ceases to puzzle the audience. Scientists and artists, closed up in their own crazy worlds, fussing over a concept that determines our life.
Réka Szabó Réka Szabó is a contemporary dancer, choreographer, teacher, founding member of L1 Independent Dancers’ Partnership. As a performer she worked with Emma Rice (GB), Milli Bitterli (A), Javier de Frutos (GB), Rui Horta (P), and with numerous Hungarian choreographers/directors (László Hudi, Márta Ladjánszki, Gyula Berger, Éva Magyar /The Shamans, Eszter Gál, etc.). As a choreographer her work has been acknowledged by a number of choreography awards and invitations to European festivals (Aerovawes/London, Madrid, Vienna, Praha, Ljubljana, Bratislava, Faro, Amsterdam, Graz).
