Ulixes. The experience of completed moment-time, time-monologue. Change of roles, adventures of inner time and consciousness. We all crave to be out of time. You too! Everybody tries to achive it differently. Real stories come alive in our minds, with story-complementing, surreal effects. The most important is what you experience of time and how you do it. Ulixes deals with the possibilities of different roles within one person, using the language of music and images. It is an opera of consciousness stating the question: are you inside Time? Or are you out of it? I have worked on the opera with artist József Tasnádi, who has long been interested in interactive art. He created an electronic system in which sound can get in touch with image and vica versa. The symbol as a means and manner of contacting, is defined by him, while the time and quality of contacting is defined by the sound.
In the fine-art landscape the space is opened up by sound (music), it unfolds the order and meaning of images and continually gets in touch with them. Certain sound-signs mean certain motivations for the image, and the image starts working.
