The Best of the International Solo and Duo Dance Festival 2005” organized by the Orkesztika Foundation

The Orkesztika Foundation has been organizing the Festival of Solo Dance since 2000 and the Festival of Duo Dance since 2002. The festival offers emerging artists the possibility of experimenting with artistic concepts, either by making a choreography for themselves, or for a performer of their choice. The participants have a chance to receive feedback on their work by entering the competition and as a result, they can develop their production. During the “preliminary round” of the Festival in January, the participants presented their work without prior selection. The official jury, the audience and the participants appointed the solos and duos to be presented in the gala program at Trafó. Between the 13th and 16th of January 2005 23 Hungarian and 11 foreign productions could be seen in MU Theatre from which five solos and five duos were selected.
