Two women. Three scenes. One evening, in which they respond to the constant gaze which inspects them. Being looked at, examined, and living up to the expectation, where the body operates as a social tool, they develop a relationship between them. Inspired by surreal imagery and pop energy, the three different sections present different aspects of female body and being, ultimately, exposing a refreshing language: mysterious, funny and disturbing all at once.
Two Playful Pink was premiered on November 2003, at the „Curtain Up 03” Festival, the Suzanne Dellal Center for Dance, Tel-Aviv.
Godder’s work arises from the exploration of contradictory forces through the found, familiar and fantastic. She builds context using her distinct movement vocabulary, in which she explores relationships and solitude at their impulsive root. Her interest in exhibitionism and in the use of role-playing as themes, exposes the body’s internal impulses struggling through its social physicality, in its attempts at defining and re-defining itself. The complexity of these layers being played out one against the other, builds an evocative emotional and narrative spectrum brought out in highly detailed imagery and intensely explored physicality.
