"A new experience in participatory theatre. A warm assault on all the senses. Inclusive and embracing. It's about theatre as a shared experience and I've never seen anything quite like it." Tony Reekie, Director Bank of Scotland's Children's International Theatre Festival

The Japanese Garden by Italian theatre company TPO is dedicated to dance and to the poetics of gardens. It proposes a sensory journey into theatrical environments inspired by the architecture of Japanese gardens. Five little gardens, each of them proposing an exploration, at times individual, at times in groups: a meadow, a lake, a bridge, flowers, the sea. Each of these environments develops a theatrical action based on the acoustic and playful relationship with natural elements. The gardens (composed of images projected from above onto a white carpet lined with pressure sensors) open up and suggest games, creating interactive contact and communicating in the form of visual poetry thorough images and sounds animated in real time.

The Italian visual theatre group TPO is regarded as one of the most original and outstanding Children's theatre groups in Europe.
