POST-SHOW DISCUSSION
On 8 May after the performance Attila Nemes cultural mediator at Kitchen Budapest will be talking with Aurélien Bory director. Everybody is welcome!
“The way I intended to portray Kaori Ito mostly implied portraying her body: a study of the innermost marks her dance has carved in her living body”, says Aurélien Bory. This atypical director (and physicist) concentrates on movement, body and image, turning them into pure theatre. In Plexus, he uses delicate brush strokes to outline the features of the Japanese performer Kaori Ito. A puppet-woman, encased in a cube pervaded with taut strings, she strives towards her freedom in spite of the hurdles, alternatively as a warrior or a fragile fugitive.
