“We are skinning with love and playfulness, while knowing the force of the floor.”
Three dancers and two musicians combine to create an entertaining combination of movement and live music, in an ever-changing space. Gestures, relationships and love affairs are analyzed, mapped bare, skinned and splintered resulting in a highly original and personal piece. One of the most exhilarating dance performances of the last few years, amusing and sincere – this is how cool is born.
This performance was chosen as one of the 20 best pieces of 2014 by Aerowaves, the respected European contemporary dance network. This has resulted in many European invitations for the company (including Spring Forward Festival, Umea; Melkweg -Julidans Festival , Amsterdam; Tanec Praha, Prague; Tanz Mainz Festival, Mainz; The Place, London; Lublin Dance Week, Lublin; Spanski Borci, Ljubjana; Rote Fabrik, Zürich; Les Plateaux, Paris). They also received the 2014 Rudolf Laban award (the most prestigious contemporary dance award in Hungary) for the best performance of 2014.
"A very provocative, raunchy yet tasteful work with the accompanists fiddling on their instruments while the dancers fiddle with each other. Dashing around Dányi, Vadas and Molnár engage in what can only be described as a ménage à trois finding ways to grope each other while moving beautifully with such a dynamic vocabulary. The sexual tension between the three increases as Porteleki and Czitrom on electric guitar and violin become frantic with their playing. Collapsing in a hot mess the three then drift apart and their playful personalities come out in sultry solos." (Currency 2014 – The Place, Posted on November 13, 2014 by nickyprianou)
