Salamon Eszter (HU/D): MONUMENT 0: Haunted by wars (1913-2013)

2400 HUF / Student: 1900 HUF
General Season Pass is valid
Twin Pass is valid

The first part of her series reflecting on the relationship between choreography and history.

The choreographer and performer Eszter Salamon looks at the past 100 years as a history of wars, and together with six dancers brings to stage the tribal and folk dances, as well as other popular dance forms originated from the conflict zones of all five continents. Embracing the approach of an archaeological history, this “dance of death” brings about an impressively sombre yet stirring scenario bringing to light an invisible world and dance history.

The score is based on a selection of wars that took place between 1913 and 2013 worldwide. The main criterion of the selection are the First, Western world's manifold implications in the wars happening elsewhere. The territories are those that have been attacked, invaded, violated or occupied during the armed conflicts. That elsewhere is, however, not a unique “other place“. Monument 0 is thus a feast devouring and reinterpreting the once forgotten and neglected expressions and movement paradigms that our modernity has erased in order to create a tabula rasa as its own historical fiction.

EMLÉKMŰ 0: kísértenek a háborúk (1913-2013)

"A MONUMENT 0 hagyományos értelemben vett zárt táncok sorozatából áll, nem is akármilyenekből, hanem többségében olyan, videofelvételekről rekonstruált, tradicionális harci/háborús törzsi/népi táncok mai átirataiból, amelyeket földrészre, országra, etnikumra való tekintet nélkül Salamon Eszter a világ „folklórkincséből” hosszú mérlegelés után kiemelt és feldolgozott." - Králl Csaba "A nagy halálkacaj" címmel írt az előadásról (http://trafohou.se/halalkacaj), melyet most végre Budapesten, a Trafóban is láthatunk: Salamon Eszter (HU/D): EMLÉKMŰ 0: kísértenek a háborúk (1913-2013) // Koreográfusok új utakon pénteken és szombaton!
